Besserat de Bellefon (BB) was founded in Aÿ in 1843 by Edmond Besserat. The bubbles of BB are said to be 30 per cent finer than those of other Champagnes.

The Champagne’s popularity grew during the ‘Années Folles’ years in 1920s France, before being acquired in 1971 by the Pernod-Ricard group, and eventually bought by Groupe Marne et Champagne, which became Lanson International. It is now owned by the Lanson-BCC Group (Boizel Chanoine Champagne).

The estate owns 25 hectares of vineyards, producing around 1.3 million bottles annually.
