Boërl & Kroff was created by two friends, Patrick Sabaté and Stéphane Sésé, and debuted with the release of the house’s 1995 vintage. Boërl & Kroff produces its Champagne from three small vineyard plot,s each planted mainly with old vine Pinot Noir in the Aube region, near Urville.
Production is small, with around 2,500 to 3,000 magnums produced in only the years when the quality is deemed high enough for the founders to produce a vintage Champagne. From the 2002 harvest, only 800 magnums were produced.
The wines are said to have a perfect balance of concentration, precision and freshness, with flavour profiles of raspberry and redcurrant from the Pinot Noir grapes. Since 1997, the vintages that do not fit into the strict criteria and high standards of the vintage Boërl & Kroff make up a wine called “B de Boërl & Kroff”. It is this variant that is available in Dubai at the time of writing.
