The UAE might well boast its fair share of high end restaurants and acclaimed chefs, but there’s always room for new talent – particularly when it arrives in the form of an exclusive pop-up.
And this month, three new limited-time eateries and events will open their doors to the public across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, for time periods ranging from one night only to three month residency.
In Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter, the Royal Pavillion at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort has already been transformed into a fine dining restaurant, hosted by acclaimed Dubai eateries 3 Fils and Brix.
Open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from now until March and hosting up to 45 diners per night, the exclusive venue will serve a three-part, 12-course ‘around the world’ tasting menu designed to explore the most exciting cuisines from across the globe, featuring dishes such as Brix’ winter cheesecake with brie, ginger-compressed cucumber and celery snow and 3 Fils’ Thai softshell crab salad.

Over in Dubai, meanwhile, Orfali Bros Bistro is now accepting bookings for an exclusive, one-night, four-hands dinner featuring guest chef Maksut Askar of Istanbul’s revered Neolokal.
Priced at AED650 per head, the event will serve a specially-devised menu which pairs the Orfali brothers’ experimental bistronomy with Askar’s modern Anatolian cuisine, famed for dishes such as ‘low and slow lamb neck, freekeh pilaf with vermicelli, freekeh mihlama’.
Trèsind Studio has also unveiled the latest in its series of collaborations with the world’s best chefs, this time with chef Mitsuharu Maido of Lima’s celebrated Maido restaurant.
Repeatedly named as one of Latin America’s best talents for his inventive take on Nikkei cuisine, Maido will join chef Himanshu Saini in Trèsind Studio’s kitchen on January 25 and 26 to serve a menu which will seek to fuse the flavours of Peru, Japan and India.
The event will feature two sittings each night, priced at AED1,095 per person, with bookings now open.
